Standard, Rush, Same-Day, or Emergency: Choosing the Right Process Service Speed

It Starts With Your Deadline, Not Our Menu

The right service speed for your case depends on one thing first: how much time you actually have before a hearing, a filing deadline, or a requirement you need to confirm with your attorney. We offer four speed tiers for standard service, plus a separate service for out-of-state subpoenas (more on that in a separate article). Here's exactly what each one promises, in plain terms.

  • Standard Process Service Statewide: first attempt within 7 days of submission, completion typically under 15 business days. The most budget-friendly option, built for cases without an urgent deadline.
  • 2-Day Rush Process Service: first attempt by the 2nd business day after you submit the request, with repeat attempts every 2 days after that.
  • Same-Day Process Service: first attempt the same day you submit, with daily follow-up attempts for up to 3 business days if the first attempt doesn't connect.
  • Emergency Process Service: up to 7 attempts within 72 hours, built for subjects who are complicated to locate or actively evasive, whether they're in-state or out-of-state.

When Standard Is the Right Call

If your case has breathing room, Standard Process Service Statewide is the practical choice. Standard is typically completed in under 15 business days, and there's no reason to pay for rush handling you don't need. This is the tier most routine civil filings use.

When You Need Rush or Same-Day

2-Day Rush makes sense when you have a hearing coming up in a week or two and want the first attempt happening fast, without paying for the most aggressive tier. Same-Day is for situations where every day matters: a hearing is imminent, or you've already lost time trying another method that didn't work.

When It's Emergency, Not Just Urgent

Emergency Process Service exists for the harder cases: someone who's been avoiding service, whose address is uncertain, or whose situation is genuinely complicated to pin down. Up to 7 attempts within a 72-hour window means we're not waiting around between tries. If you're not sure whether your case qualifies as complicated or evasive, describe the situation when you submit the request and we'll tell you honestly which tier fits.

One Thing That Doesn't Change With Speed

Every tier, from Standard through Emergency, includes a free notarized affidavit of service and real-time tracking so you always know where things stand. Pricing is flat-rate per tier, with no hidden mileage, tax, or transaction fees tacked on afterward, regardless of which speed you choose, and every tier is backed by the same 100% money-back performance guarantee.

How to Submit a Request for Any Tier

Every job request, no matter the speed tier, gets created and managed online. There's no need for an in-person meeting to get started, though an on-duty Process Master is available around the clock if you want to talk through which tier fits before you submit. You'll get updates as the job moves, from the first attempt through completed service.

Coverage Doesn't Change With Speed

All four tiers cover our primary regional area of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee, and we can reach all 50 states and US territories through corresponding agents for anything outside that footprint. Choosing a faster tier doesn't limit where we can serve. It just changes how quickly the first attempt happens and how often we follow up after that.

What Happens After the First Attempt

If the first attempt doesn't connect, each tier has its own built-in follow-up cadence rather than leaving you to guess when the next try will happen. Standard typically completes in under 15 business days, 2-Day Rush repeats every 2 days, Same-Day follows up daily for up to 3 business days, and Emergency keeps making attempts, up to 7 of them, within the full 72-hour window. Knowing that cadence upfront is part of picking the right tier, not just knowing how fast the first attempt happens.

A Real Example of Fast Turnaround

Diane Alderuccio needed an out-of-state process server and wasn't sure what to expect: "You never know what you will get... SwiftWings was very professional, and their response was quick to my online request. Service was done within a day Wow!! Great service!" That's the kind of result Same-Day and 2-Day Rush are built to deliver when the calendar doesn't leave room for the standard timeline.
